Other states that claim they have NY pizza have nothing on us

Last night I went out with my roomie and his peeps. We hit up a number of hot gay clubs/bar. So in other words no play for me. I did add a new friend to my entourage. Aaron ...ironically he lives in Huntington Beach and works a mere 5 minute drive from where I was living when I first came here. I tried the pizza here for the first time much to the chagrin of my roommate. He said I hate everything in CA and that Ny is better. Well, yes that's a proven fact. I don't hate Cali...i really like it but yes their water sucks and everyone knows you have to buy water by the gallon to drink. And yes i have a lot to say about their coffee. I do like the Beanery but as far as buying coffee in e supermarket...it's extremely hard to find good ole Spanish coffee such as, Bustelo. Luckily my friend Amanda passed off her can to me before leaving and after searching high and low I found some in Food for Less of all places. I'm pretty laid back about most things but I put my foot down about my coffee. So yes I bitched about the coffee. So then we get to pizza. Florida, New Orleans, and now Cali to name a few all claim to have Ny style pizza which I scoff at. And people her look scared when they bring up around true blue New Yorkers. So my roommate says there is this pizza place by El Cantina on Santa Monica that claims to have Ny pizza and the line that forms out that door is ridic. It reminds of the cheese line in Oneonta that would line up outside Tinos on water street every night at 2 am. So my roommate has fear in his eyes when he tells me I'm going to find something wrong with the pizza. Which honestly if you're gonna claim you have NY style pizza be prepared to bring it and don't bitch when the natives come to examine....so I tried it and yes it was ok pizza and probably the bt I would find in LA. I will tell you the problem with it that I told my roommate ....this problem that all places outside of Ny or I should say the tri state area have that brings scoff and doubt to their Ny pizza is no matter what they o it will not be as good as NY pizza because of the water. Our water is what makes our pizza and bagels great. It's why all places try to live up to our hype and come close but fail cuz of their water. So fear not East Coasters our shine will never be tarnished.
